Dear Entrepreneurs: Express Yourself!

In today’s fast-paced of being an entrepreneur, we have more than enough opportunities to express ourselves.

But are we really doing it in the best ways? Are we doing it in the true spirit of the entrepreneur?

You can build a blog and write to your heart’s content. You’ll be more effective, though, when people know you’ve written it.

Twitter and Facebook are great vehicles of expression for the modern day entrepreneur. They’re even better when you have thousands of followers.

Just like Lady Gaga, you have to start somewhere. Lady Gaga (real name: Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta) was just like you – and chose to express herself by following in the footsteps of Madonna (real name: Madonna Louise Ciccone) who originally expressed herself – in a big way.  Madonna went from going for a career in modern dance to being  named by Guinness World Records as the world’s most successful female recording artist of all time and being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She has starred in films and now she directs them.  Madonna has even been dubbed an entrepreneur herself.

When you have something to say, follow the tried-and-true rhetoric: Say it loud. Say it clear.

Put your thoughts everywhere. Shout them from the treetops and through your online networks and blog posts. Take a stand for what you believe in.

Write an op-ed piece for your local or national newspaper or submit your blog piece to the Huffington Post. It’s okay to have a Letter to the Editor printed in The New York Times on your resume.

Not only will you get noticed, your business will too. Don’t be afraid… express yourself. Now you’re talking like an entrepreneur.

You Can Do It!

    Hello:

That is true. But we have to be carefull about what we say because most of the time people say anything justo to say something, but is more important say anything when we need to express it, because is a message which is important for one or many reasons.

In my country Venezuela, there are a lot of people trying to express a point of view about political situations that is not right for many others, and that becomes a fight which has divided the country in two parts. In my country every day is harder to say something about the government, because you are with the “process” or not.

I think is better to say something to try to join people, point of views, entreprenaurs, whom may motivated to share knowledges, point of views and more.

I hope one day Venezuela becomes the country we had ten years ago and we are losing now.

    Regards
    Ronny A.

  • Very important stuff here.
I think Gary Vaynerchuck is a great example of why entrepreneurs should express themselves. Made me rewatch this video: http://garyvaynerchuk.com/post/78887853/legacy-is-greater-than-currency
