Feb 05 2010

5 points discussed are apt and very essential for sucess.

The entire discussion revolves on one most important concept- 'FOCUS' Staying focussed. Your core business.

Generating creative ideas and pursuing them is important for sustanability. but choosing the best workable amongst them is the key, whitin your core business.

Many have failed in their business especially small and medium enterprises due to unfocussed pursuits i.e. away from core business.

Another aspect is time which is more important than cost of unfocussed activities - this is not a recovarable variable.

Thank you. These are excellent questions, and I agree with the logic behind them. What I find, is before you can even ask these questions of yourself, you have to identify what Keith Ferrazzi , author of Never Eat Alone and Who's Got Your Back, calls, your "blue flame" This is the place where your natural talents and skill sets intersect with your true passions and desires. Not an easy thing to do. It takes discipline and the courage to be totally honest with yourself. So do this. Make a list of three to five people who can be totally candid with you and ask them to help you identify your strengths and weaknesses. Meet at least once a week. Create a safe place where generosity, and vulnerability, can thrive enough to invite candor. Only though raw candor from your closest relationships can you dig deep enough to discover source and authenticity and through much hard work, your true self, with all your special talents and weaknesses will be revealed. Then and only then will you be able to answer with confidence, the questions you propose. -PG
